Amanda Seales releases new video, “This Too Shall Pass”

I don’t remember following her on Twitter, she just always been on my timeline. She’s not like most celebrities.  She constantly communicates with her followers, not just retweeting the trite filled tweets.  She’s very eclectic and has a great taste in music.  I think that’s what I love most about her.

Recently Amanda released a video for “This Too Shall Pass” and I absolutely love it.  It’s soulful and groovy.  Visually, it draws you in.  As an ode to love and history, the video showed pictures famous couples, including Claire and Cliff Huxtable; Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott-King; and Will and Jada Smith.

If you don’t know who Amanda Seales is, I suggest you get to know her.  I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did.

Gloria Ry’ann, “Just Glow”

Gloria Ry’ann has a very sweet voice.  She sings effortlessly.  At the end of, “Love Inside Me” she hits a note that is somewhere between Minnie Ripperton and Chante Moore.  I don’t know how I have gone this long without hearing about her.  This EP Just Glow is a must hear!

The Good Sin, “The Story of Love x Hate”

A few weeks ago I came across a Seattle based rapper and fell in love.  I can’t explain what is is that draws me in, but there is a certain quality about The Good Sin that I like.  I can definitely hear the Shabazz Palaces influence in his music.  I HIGHLY recommend this album!  There aren’t many emcee’s left, and I think he lives up to the title.

Lyric Jones, Jones St. LP

Hip Hop is a male dominated genre but it’s female driven.  There is such a noticeable lack of female Hip Hop artists in the industry right now.  If its not Nicki Minaj, it’s a knock off of her.  However, you do have Jean Grae who is probably one of the best female lyricists you could ever hear.

As always, I am always trying to find new music.  Of course for my own listening pleasure because music is a huge part of my life, but also to dispel this myth that there isn’t any good music.  I feel redundant but that is not true.  There is so much good music out but people fail to actually search for it, but I digress.  In my musical travels I came across Lyric Jones: an emcee, drummer, vocalist, and writer from Atlanta, Georgia.  He recent album is entitled, Jones St. LP.

Listening to her LP you can’t help but to bob your head and zone out.  The mellifluous sounds are soothing as they pierce your ears.  Not to mention she has some great features on the LP, Playboy Tre and Esperanza Spalding to name a few.

If you’re looking for something new, check out Lyric Jones.  I think you will like what you hear.

My best,

Andreana

Jeff Bernat, “The Gentleman Approach.”

In the midst of my quest for new music I came across Jeff Bernat.  For some strange reason people are under this impression that R&B is dead.  However, Jeff Bernat is proving those who think like that WRONG!  Full of emotion and nice vocals, Jeff’s album, The Gentleman Approach,  is definitely something worth adding to your playlist.  He’s so squiriferous! If you are a true lover of R&B, this is the album for you.  If you like what you hear, please support great music!  Please comment below and let me know what you thought of his music.

My best,

Andreana 🙂
